Before moving to Utah and founding Karpaty in 2015, Maciej taught at Wisła Polish Dancers in Medinah, Illinois and danced extensively with Polish, Ukrainian, Czech, and Slovak groups in Chicago. Maciej regularly travels back to Poland and Ukraine to study dance and ethnography with folk dance groups, and has conducted extensive research on the cultures and folk traditions through out many regions. He currently directs Karpaty and develops curriculum and distinct choreography for all the groups.
Dasha is the instructor for the Monday night youth group. Born in Ukraine, Dasha started taking rhythmic gymnastics classes when she was only two years old and later went on to compete in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, where she won many medals. Dasha has been dancing Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian folk dance for a total of about five years now, and has shown growing passion in the art every step of the way.
