As Fall begins, Karpaty continues expanding. We’re working very hard to prepare our Christmas program, which includes all the Polish national dances (Kujawiak, Oberek, Krakowiak, Polonez and Mazur), as well as our dances from 1920s Warsaw and Hutsulia.
Be sure to check our calendar page for our upcoming performances!
On May 22nd, 2016, Karpaty Dance Ensemble had the privilege of performing at the annual Living Traditions Festival, a three-day multicultural festival located in downtown Salt Lake City. Karpaty performed its Polish program, with dances such as the Polonaise, Oberek, Krakowiak, and dances from 1920s era Warsaw. We had Anastasia Magamedova, a wonderful young pianist join us for the event. You can find pictures and videos from the event on our website and on our Facebook page.
We’re keeping busy at Karpaty with our wonderful new members and many summer festivals coming up in Salt Lake! Check out our calendar page for a list of a performance near you!
Stay tuned for updates in April, when we begin new partnerships with local organizations and announce some exciting news regarding the group!
From all of us at Karpaty Dance Ensemble, we’d like to extend our thanks and gratitude to our friends and fans for all the wonderful work they’ve put in this opening season. The ensemble is continually growing and its repertoire advancing. Over a period of three months, our group managed to learn four spectacular dances, and perform for audiences all over the Salt Lake City region.
There’s still time to join the ensemble! Our winter season sign-ups start soon! No prior experience in dance is required, nor do you have to be Polish or speak it! Make a change in 2016, join us today!
